I started building SahraSafar when I was sixteen. At first it was just a small side project I worked on in my free time. I was curious about how flights and hotels actually get sold online, and honestly a lot of it just annoyed me. Every time I booked a trip something felt clunky or confusing, and I kept thinking it could be so much simpler. So I tried making my own version, and then another one, and then another. I really lost count of how many times I started over from scratch. Some versions were bad and I threw them out, and some taught me things I still use today. It took about two years of late nights and a lot of mistakes, but by the time I turned eighteen it had finally become the SahraSafar you are looking at now. The reason I kept going is pretty simple. I love to travel. I love landing somewhere new, walking around a city I have never seen, and meeting people I never would have met back home, and I wanted booking a trip to feel just as good as the trip itself instead of being stressful. A big reason I built this also comes from the bad experiences I had on other travel sites. The worst part was almost always refunds. When something went wrong, getting my money back felt close to impossible. Cancelling a booking was hidden behind confusing pages and fine print, and when I actually needed help the support was slow or just not there, usually right when my plans had already fallen apart. It happened to me too many times, and it always felt like those companies stopped caring the moment they had my money. So I built SahraSafar to be the opposite of that. I want the hard parts of travel to be the easy parts. Changing a flight, getting a refund, or rebooking a trip should be just as simple as booking it in the first place. I try to get the small things right, the ones most sites ignore, because that is really what makes people trust you. This whole thing started as one kid messing around with an idea, and it slowly grew into something I am genuinely proud of.
